Unique Work of Art “Food Waste Banana” – Limited Edition of 11
With Food Waste Banana, the artist diverts another strong symbol of pop culture and the contemporary art market. Inspired by the iconography of Warhol and the famous banana of Maurizio Cattelan, this work questions the value that we attribute to everyday objects and their ephemeral character.
In the center of the image, an overripe banana, blackened and withered skin, rests on a minimalist background. Where Warhol's banana was smooth, colorful and iconic, and that of Cattelan simply taped to a gallery wall, this one is abandoned, decomposed, marking the inevitable passage of time and the food waste cycle. The object of desire becomes waste, thrown away without consideration, despite its symbolic charge and its artistic history.
There refined composition, the subtle light and the marked texture of the fruit refer to an aesthetic between classical still life and conceptual imagery, inviting reflection on the disposable society and the fragility of contemporary icons.
Shot in limited series of 11 copies, each work is numbered, signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
The printing is done on the prestigious Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta paper 315g, recognized for its museum qualities and its exceptional rendering. Each print benefits from a meticulous handcrafted finish : mounted on a medium wood support with a special Fine Arts glue, then protected by three coats of matte varnish, guaranteeing visual depth and optimal durability.
In an eco-responsible approach, each work is highlighted in a carefully selected recycled frame, adding a authentic and sustainable dimension to this creation.
